Comment:
The Mammal Species of the World, 3rd Edition (2005:603) inexplicably gives the authorship for the subspecies Lontra canadensis pacifica as '(J. A. Allen, 1898).' However, as reflected in Larivière & Walton (1998:1), Rhoads alone was the author of the original combination, so the Lontra combination should have authorship as '(Rhoads, 1898)' instead.
