Microchaetus rappi: Comments
Comment:
Microchaetus rappi is sometimes attributed to Beddard (1886:63, dated to 'August 1886' at the foot of the page), but it appears that Benham (1886:267, published February 1886 according to the Table of Contents) likely made the name available first, despite attributing it to Beddard's presentation to the Zoological Society 'in the autumn' (in Nov. 1884 per Transactions note http://biodiversitylibrary.org/page/30826838 ). Per ICZN Art. 50.1, authorship should either be Beddard in Benham 1886, or Beddard & Benham in Benham 1886
