Eschmeyer (personal communication, May 2004) suggests that Mugil delicatus Alleyne & Macleay 1877 may belong in the genus Liza, but since that combination is not reflected in the literature, for the moment ITIS is leaving delicatus as Mugilidae incertae sedis
