Comments: Viewed as a synonym of O. microtis (Carleton and Musser, 1989; Olds and Anderson, 1987), an assignment contradicted by morphometric (Bonvicino and Weksler, 1998) and cytochrome b (Myers et al., 1995) data. Bonvicino and Weksler (1998) recorded the species as present in Brazil, but Andrades-Miranda et al. (2001a) did not. Bonvicino and Weksler (1998) reidentified certain Paraguayan specimens reported as O. fornesi by Myers and Carleton (1981) as O. flavescens based on possession of lower dip...
