Comment:
Cabrita jerdonii minor Deraniyagala, 1971 may be conspecific with Ophisops nictans Arnold, 1989, and if it is it has priority. However, its status is unclear. Reptile Database does not accept it as a valid species; Agarwal et al. (2018) retain Ophisops minor as a tentatively recognized species (restricted to Sri Lanka), while also recognizing Ophisops nictans for the type locality (southern India). Additional research is needed
