The Checklist of North American Butterflies, 2nd Edition (2001) lists this as a "Neotropical species dubiously reported to have occurred naturally in the United States"
Comment:
Concerning possible North American records, Pelham (2008:427) notes of Phocides urania (Westwood, 1852) "This species was recorded in 1872 from "Texas" and has not been reported since. [...] Arizona records are unsubstantiated"
