This taxon was originally described as Naidium jenkinae by John Stephenson (1931); soon after, it was placed in the genus Pristina by Sperber (1948, p. 224); Pristinella idrensis was determined to be a junior synonym of Pristinella jenkinae by Kathman (1985); see further explanation [comment_detail by commentator M.J. Wetzel] on the former genus Pristinella elsewhere in this database
