Reithrodontomys sumichrasti: Comments
Comment:
Status: IUCN - Lower Risk (lc)
Comment:
Comments: Subgenus Reithrodontomys, megalotis species group. Reconstruction of historical biogeography based on mitochondrial DNA sequence data intimates that 'sumichrasti' as defined by Hooper (1952) is a composite of two or more species (Sullivan et al., 2000), a finding that should be expanded within the context of a full revision. Sister species (sensu lato) to the R. megalotis-R. zacatecae clade based on cytochrome b data (Bell et al., 2001)
