Rubus X elongatus Brainerd & Peitersen (1920, from eastern N. America) is apparently a later homonym of Rubus elongatus Sm., a SE Asian species name established in 1791, and other uses of the name are indicated (IPNI), as well. It is not yet clear what the accepted name for the American taxon should be
