Sephanoides sephaniodes: Comments
Comment:
Peterson (online Zoonomen, 2005) comments on the spelling thusly: "Variously spelled sephaniodes and sephanoides by Lesson. Not surprisingly, in addition to questions of prevailing usage, there is confusion (at least on my part) about which use actually has priority. It appears that the "erroneous" spelling sephaniodes may have priority, but little use until de Schaunesee brought it back into use in around 1966, noting that it was in fact the original spelling"
