Placement to subfamily is not possible without additional morphological information, so 'the valid genus and species of Sinodrilus heterorchis has been placed in incertae sedis until the missing information is obtained,' although they appear to belong under either Branchiobdellinae or Xironodrilidae (Gelder 1996:656)
