See Mikkelsen (1987) on the complexities surrounding tricuspida vs. tricuspidata. She determined that tricuspida was the appropriate name, since the publication of "Thysanopodus tricuspidatus" by Guérin Méneville could not be dated (it may well have preceeded H. Milne Edwards' name, but in the absence of evidence it is assumed otherwise)
