Comments: Although denigratus was described as a subspecies of iheringi (Moojen, 1948) and is often recognized as such (Possôa and Reis, 1994; 1996), Lara and Patton (2000) concluded from analysis of sequence data and morphology that it is one of three subspecies of setosus
