Unresolved secondary homonymy is shown by Platnick (2020, online World Spider Catalog v20.5), where both Zelotes insulanus (L. Koch, 1867) and Zelotes insulanus Dalmas, 1922 are listed as valid species. The latter is a junior secondary homonym and includes the comment 'if valid and actually congeneric with [Zelotes insulanus (L. Koch, 1867)], a replacement name will be required, but this species may well belong to Trachyzelotes'
