Comment:
Regarding authorship and spelling, Jourdan (1937:522) named "le Nélomys de Blainville (Nelomelys Blainvillii)," ending with one L and -ii, as seen at http://books.google.com/books?id=xqcbAAAAMAAJ&pg=PA522, although that work was widely overlooked in some works attributing the name to Cuvier. Cuvier (1837/1838:371) quoted from "Mémoire de M. Jourdan" in a footnote with that same spelling, as seen at http://www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/13395460. Emmons et al. (2002) retain the original spelling, which is followed here
