Comments: Listed in Nandiniinae by Gregory and Hellman (1939), and Coetzee (1977b). Hunt (1987, 1989, 1998), McKenna and Bell (1997), Hunt and Tedford (1993), Flynn and Nedbal (1998), and Veron and Heard (2000) argued that Nandinia should be placed in a monotypic family based on the plesiomorphic condition of its auditory bullae (Pohle, 1920b).
