Cilicica fir is a coniferous tree belonging to the Pinaceae family, usually found at elevations between 3,000 and 6,000 feet. Characterized by its tall and slender form, it features vibrant green needles. In its natural habitat, the trunk can attain a diameter of up to 20 feet. This species is frequently mistaken for Abies nordmanniana, which has a later needle emergence in spring, is more resilient, and has historically been more widely cultivated.

Its native distribution extends from south-central and southern Turkey to northern Lebanon.
