Occasionally marketed under the name Vallota speciosa, this plant produces strap-like leaves that emerge following its blooming period. In northern regions, it thrives best in full morning sunlight, while in southern areas, it benefits from about 25% shade. When planting, bury the bulb to a depth of 1 inch (2.5 cm) and use one bulb for each 5-inch pot. Be cautious, as it can sustain damage if temperatures drop below 25 degrees Fahrenheit (2 degrees Celsius).
