The Silver Lace Vine is a semi-evergreen to deciduous climbing plant that can reach lengths of up to 30 feet. It ascends by twisting its stems around various supports, such as trellises, chain-link fences, or wires.
This vine produces flowers on new growth, allowing for significant pruning at any time, including as a fall task. It thrives in urban and coastal environments and is also drought-resistant. Fertilization should be minimal. The plant spreads through rhizomes and can be easily relocated; however, these spreading rhizomes may dominate the area where they are planted if not managed properly.
Visually, it can take on a weedy appearance and is vulnerable to Japanese beetles.
