Family:Ericaceae

Fetterbush is a native shrub that thrives in the moist, sandy environments of coastal plains. It is classified as endangered in various northern states. This plant typically grows in wet to moist conditions, favoring sandy or peaty soils found in swamps and both moist and dry forests, where it can receive filtered sunlight to full sun exposure. Notably, it can also adapt to loamy garden soils, provided they maintain consistent moisture levels. Fetterbush propagates through rhizomes and is ideal for use in naturalized settings, as a hedge, or in wetland areas.
