Miscanthus sinensis 'Sarbonde': Wildlife Value
Resistant to deer
Phonetic Spelling:miss-KANTH-us sih-NEN-sis sar-BON-day
Genus:Miscanthus
Species:sinensis
Family:Poaceae
This variety resembles Gracillimus but features narrower leaves and a more delicate texture.
It showcases large, bronzy-gold flowers that rise above a graceful mound of slender, dark green foliage. As winter approaches, the leaves dry out and take on a light tan hue. This plant is ideal for use as a specimen, in borders, or for mass plantings. In late winter or early spring, it should be cut back to the ground. Clumps can be divided in spring before new growth begins.
