The 'Nantucket' Viburnum is a compact variety introduced in 2008, resulting from a cross between V. x 'Eskimo' (which is a hybrid of V. x 'Cayuga' and V. utile) and V. macrocephalum. This shrub is evergreen in southern regions and semi-evergreen in other areas. Over time, it can reach a height of 12 feet and spread up to 7 feet wide. In April, it produces large, striking clusters of white flowers, although fruiting is generally limited. It exhibits excellent heat resistance and is suitable for growth in zone 9. Once established, it is also drought-resistant.
For optimal growth, plant it in average, acidic, well-drained soil, and provide full sun to partial shade. It can be utilized as a specimen plant, in hedges, or for other landscaping purposes.
