Comments: Traditionally recognized as G. rubiginosa Pucheran, 1855; this form is attributed to G. thierryi (see Schlawe, 1980a, 1981; Crawford-Cabral and Pacheco, 1992). Gaubert et al. (2003a, b) proposed that rubiginosa Pucheran, 1855 is a nomen oblitum. Synonyms allocated according to Roberts (1951), Crawford-Cabral and Pacheco (1992) and Gaubert et al. (2003a, b). Rosevear (1974) believed that V. maculata Gray (1830) was invalid, but see Schlawe (1980a, 1981) who defended its use. See Gaubert et a...
