Windflower is a robust, compact perennial hybrid from Japan, known for its striking white blooms that last between five to eight weeks. This plant features a mounding growth habit and propagates through rhizomes. While it can thrive in both full and partial sunlight, it tends to favor partial shade for optimal growth.

Propagation can be carried out during the winter and spring months using root cuttings and division techniques, respectively.

In terms of pests and diseases, Windflower is generally resilient, but it may encounter some challenges, including powdery mildew, leaf and stem smut, leaf spots, downy mildew, as well as infestations from caterpillars, nematodes, slugs, flea beetles, Japanese beetles, and black blister beetles.

Recognition: This plant was honored as the Perennial Plant Association’s Perennial of the Year in 2016 and received the RHS Award of Garden Merit in 1993.
