Hoary Bowlesia, also known as Hairy Bowlesia, is a native weed found in the western United States, where it is quickly proliferating in southern and southeastern lawns and landscapes. It has also been identified in certain container nurseries. This low-growing winter annual forms pale green clumps or mats during the spring and can reach heights of 1 to 3 feet. The young plants closely resemble hairy buttercup, featuring palmately lobed leaves.

Currently, there is no available information on control methods for this weed. However, other species within the same family have demonstrated some resistance to various herbicides.
