The Formosan Lily, a flowering bulb belonging to the lily family, is indigenous to Taiwan (formerly known as Formosa). It produces large, fragrant white blooms that typically emerge from late summer to autumn and can reach heights of 4 to 7 feet.
This lily thrives in full sunlight but can also adapt to partial shade. It prefers well-drained loamy soil that is average to fertile and slightly acidic. Ideal for use in fall borders, cutting gardens, or cottage gardens, these lilies can also be grown in containers, although they will be smaller in size.
Common issues include aphids, bulb rot, and Botrytis.
