Phonetic Spelling:LIN-ay-ee-uh a-MAH-bih-liss
Genus:Linnaea
Species:amabilis
Family:Caprifoliaceae
This plant belongs to the honeysuckle family and features an upright, arching vase shape that resembles a fountain. As it matures, it may become leggy, so it is advisable to prune it back to the ground every few years. It is drought-resistant and should have the oldest stems trimmed in late winter or right after flowering. Since it blooms on old wood, heavy pruning during winter can diminish blooms in the following spring; however, this practice ultimately enhances the plant's overall appearance. The most vibrant leaf color is achieved in filtered shade. This plant is ideal for use as a screen or hedge, in lawns, shrub borders, or as part of foundation plantings.
In terms of pests and diseases, this plant does not face any significant issues.
