Phonetic Spelling:vih-BUR-num BY prag-EN-se

Genus:Viburnum

Species:

Family:Viburnaceae

Prague Viburnum is a robust evergreen shrub resulting from the hybridization of V. rhytidophyllum and V. utile. It typically reaches heights and widths of 8 to 12 feet, showcasing an oval to rounded shape. In the spring, it displays large, fragrant clusters of white flowers, followed by berries in the fall. Its evergreen nature makes it an excellent choice for hedges or as a standout specimen in gardens. In the colder northern regions, it may die back to the ground during extreme sub-zero temperatures but will rejuvenate in the spring.

This shrub thrives in average, moist, well-drained soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. It can be effectively used as a foundation plant, a specimen, a hedge, or within a shrub border.

Potential issues include bacterial leaf spot, various mildews, and crown gall, along with insect challenges such as aphids and scale.
